One universal idea is that the Chinese Gender Calendar is based on lunar cycles, relative to the agricultural calendar (yin-yang-li). However, given that the Chinese Gender Calendar is based in astrology, which is directly related to the sun’s movement in relation to the zodiac, maybe it would make better sense to utilize solar calendar dates.
In fact, studies show that the highest accuracy is accomplished when western dates (Gregorian calendar) are applied. In other words, it’s not necessary to convert conception dates and birth dates into other types of calendars.
Purpose
Basically, the Chinese baby gender predictor is simply a chart. One side of the chart lists a series of dates that correspond to the exact month that the child was conceived. While on the other side, there’s a list of various ages that correspond to the mother’s age at the time of conception. Next, matching the mother’s age with the month of conception leads to a particular square in the chart that is either pink or blue, thus specifying whether the child is a boy or girl.
Years of expert studies have proved the chart to be accurate by as much as 93%.
Considerations
To make the chart as accurate as possible, the mother’s age must be calculated according to the Chinese lunar calendar, rather than the standard Western calendar.
Those mothers whose birthdays occur between Feb. 21st and Dec. 31st on the Gregorian calendar must add another year to their age in order to be accurate. For example, a 25-year-old-mother born on July 5th would actually consider herself to be 26 years of age instead of 25.
History
The Chinese baby gender predictor is believed to be more than 700 years old and developed by an ancient scholar in the Song Dynasty. Although the chart’s history is somewhat uncertain, it’s thought to have been inadvertently discovered in an unnamed tomb somewhere in the land of China. The original copy of the ancient document rests in the Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Institute.
Even though the Chinese gender prediction chart has proven to be 93% accurate, it should not be considered a foolproof way of predicting or planning a pregnancy with the idea that whoever uses it will get exactly what the chart predicts.
